Following the instructions of the Central Government, now the Bihar government has also declared Black Fungus an epidemic. Bihar has become the 13th state to do so, including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. The notification to declare the disease as epidemic under the Epidemic Diseases Act-1897 was issued by the Health Department late on Saturday evening.

This disease is spreading rapidly among corona sufferers. The number of patients infected with black fungus has reached 91 in Bihar.

How will it be treated in Bihar now
State Health Minister Mangal Pandey has told that medicines have been stored in RMRI for the treatment of black fungus in Bihar. Special treatment arrangements have been made in Patna for AIIMS, IGIMS, PMCH and NMCH. In these, patients will get the drug of amphotericin for free.

40 suspects arrived in Patna AIIMS on Saturday, 7 confirmed
In the last 24 hours, Patna AIIMS has 40 suspected patients, out of which 7 have confirmed black fungus. At the same time, two black fungus cases were reported in IGMS on Saturday.

Hospital will send data of patients to government, otherwise action will be taken
Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Supriya Amrit said that after the epidemic is declared, the government will have to keep an account of every case, death and medicine of black fungus. Like the Corona epidemic, hospitals must send patients data to the government. Hospitals not doing so will be dealt with under the Pandemic Act. The state government has declared Patna AIIMS and IGIMS as centers of excellence for the treatment of black fungus. Teams of experts have been deployed at both the places.

What is black fungus?
It is a fungal disease. Which is from a fungal named Mucoramitisis. This happens mostly to those people who already have a disease or are taking medicine that reduces the immunity of the body or reduces the strength to fight other diseases of the body. It can occur in any part of the body.

Where is fungus found?
This is very serious, but a rare infection. This fungus can live anywhere in the environment, especially in ground and rotting organic matters. For example, black fungus is found in leaves, rotten wood and compost manure.

How does it reach the body and what can be the effect?
The fungi present in the environment mostly reach our body through breath. If there is any kind of wound in the body or the body is burnt, then this infection can spread from there. If it is not detected in the early stages, then the eyesight can go. Or the part of the body in which this fungus is spread, that part of the body can rot.

What are the symptoms?
Symptoms of this disease depend on which part of the body is the infection. Swelling of one side of the face, headache, nasal congestion, vomiting, fever, chest pain, sinus congestion, upper part of the mouth or black sores in the nose, which become very fast.
