The Mumbai Sessions Court on Monday sentenced gangster Chhota Rajan and 3 operatives to two years in the extortion case. Rajan was accused of forcibly raising 26 crore in 2015 by threatening Panvel builder Nandu Wajekar. CCTV footage of the builder’s office with the police proved that the accused had gone to the builder’s office. Also the police got their call recording, in which Chhota Rajan is threatening the builder.

After bringing Chhota Rajan to India, all the cases related to it were transferred to CBI. Out of that, it was also a matter. The case was registered in Panvel. At present, Chhota Rajan is in Tihar Jail.

Recovery was made in Pune in a land purchase case
In 2015, Nandu Vajekar bought a land in Pune, for which it was decided to pay Rs 2 crore as commission to agent Parmanand Thakkar. Thakkar wanted more money, but Wajekar refused to give the money. Thakkar was approached by Chhota Rajan and Rajan recovered 26 crores by threatening Vajekar with the help of his operatives. Thakkar is the main accused in the same case and is currently absconding.

26 crores in place of 2 crores
Chhota Rajan sent some of his men to Wajekar’s office and threatened him with a pistol. It is alleged that 26 crores were taken from Vajekar instead of 2 crores and also threatened to kill him.

Punishment in third case in Mumbai
Chhota Rajan himself called twice for ransom from the builder. This is the third case in Mumbai in which Chhota Rajan is convicted. Earlier in Mumbai, journalist J.K. Rajan has been convicted in Dey’s murder case. Apart from this, Chhota Rajan has also been convicted in the fake passport case in Delhi.
