The whole world is fighting the novel coronavirus also known as covid-19 but international travel may start soon but with a twist.
This pandemic has lead to millions of people jobless as the business across the globe have been hit. The airlines all across the world have been hit and are running out of funds but there is a good news. International Travel may start soon as the government is planning to life the restrictions.
The air travel isn’t going to remain the same as it was because the government is planning to put into some regulations that passengers travelling need to follow.
These measure include mandatory 14-day quarantine, wearing of masks, face shield etc. The passengers can choose whether they want to stay in 5-star hotels or 4-start and similarly other hotels.
The aviation minister clarified that lockdown can’t be imposed for long and that air travel has seen gradual rise. The aviation industry will eventually bounce back but it is definitely going to take some time.
Coronavirus which first emerged in Wuhan has spread across the globe and has left many people stranded in foreign countries.
These people want to return home but due to restrictions on international travel in India, they were stuck. Air India has been performing the rescue flights.
This news of resuming of International travel brings hope for pilots and the flight attendants as many airlines have fired their employees because of no business.
For the first time in the world, airlines actually didn’t had space to park their airplanes as thousands of planes are in the air at any given time at normal times.
But, covid-19 forced airlines to ground their airlines which resulted in confusion and problem as international airports declined airlines to let them park their aircrafts there.
Air travel is a very big industry and it employs thousands of people in India itself, so their survival depends on the airline itself. People in India seem to welcome this move by the government.
The safety measures put in place by the government and ministry of civil aviation will result in better transportation facility for people as not all places are accessible by road or sea.
It’s estimated that it will take 2 years before airline industry can bounce back to normal, so we can say that it’s a really difficult time for the aviation field and such news is very positive.
India is planning to start international flights to only few selected countries which have controlled coronavirus cases and also have active administration. The ministry of external affairs and ministry of civil aviation is in talks with these countries.
We can expect that international air travel may resume by late july or in first week of August. Some countries which rely on tourism are also offering discounted flights and hotel prices so people may take advantage of that as well.
Only the real adventure lovers will travel in such times as most people are concerned about their safety. According to a survey, people are less likely travel this year. So, things are going to be normal by the end of 2021 only.
But let’s not look at the dark side and focus on the bright side only.
