Due to heavy snowfall in Himachal on Saturday, tourist vehicles were stuck for about 12 km between Atal Tunnel to Solanganala.
Snowfall on the mountains is breaking record in the plains of the country. Cold winds are blowing across North India including Delhi. The rains in Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan were further aggravated by winter. The entire Punjab is in the grip of cold wave. Fog also lashed most parts of Delhi for the second consecutive day on Sunday.
Kashmir is experiencing continuous snowfall. Every part around Dal Lake is covered with snow.
Kashmir and Ladakh received heavy snowfall on Sunday. At the same time, rain soaked the Jammu division. The Meteorological Department has forecast snowfall in many areas of the valley on Sunday and Monday. In most areas in Kashmir and Ladakh, temperature remains in minus.
Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of -1.5 on Saturday night, -1.5 in Pahalgam, -5 in Gulmarg. Similarly, Leh in Ladakh recorded a low of -12.7, Kargil -16.6 and Dras -22.4.

It may rain again in Delhi by 5 January
In Delhi, the minimum temperature rose by about 6 degrees to 7 degrees on Saturday, but in some areas of Delhi-NCR, the cold increased after light rain. On Sunday too, many areas received rain. According to the Meteorological Department, this process may continue on January 5.

Rains in 8 districts of Rajasthan
With the cold wave, now the phase of Maavath has started in Rajasthan. Hail can fall in Haryana with rain
In some areas of Haryana, hail can also fall with heavy rains on Sunday and Monday. If the winds change from January 7, the cold will increase again. Minimum temperature recorded 7 degrees in Gurugram. There may be light rains in NCR including Noon of Mewat, Sohna of Gurugram.

Snowfall will intensify in Himachal’s Shimla, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti
Traffic stopped on 70 roads in Himachal Pradesh after intermittent snowfall in high altitude areas. After the snowfall, the temperature dropped by 6 to 7 degrees. Night temperatures are continuously falling in many districts of the state including Patna. Patna’s minimum temperature on Saturday was 6.1 degrees. Gaya also recorded less than minimum temperature Shimla and Dehradun. It was 5.2 degrees in Gaya, 5.3 degrees in Shimla and 5.6 degrees in Dehradun. According to the Meteorological Department, Bihar will remain cloudy till 5 January. Light rain is also expected in some areas.
