Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Revenue and Flood Control Vijay Kashyap died on Tuesday. 56-year-old Kashyapa was found corona infected on 27 April. He underwent his treatment by staying in home isolation for a few days. When he started having trouble breathing, he was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram, where he breathed his last on Tuesday evening.

Several BJP leaders including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Maurya expressed condolences on his demise.

Third minister who died from Corona
Vijay is the third minister of the state who has died from Corona. Prior to this, Technical Education Minister Kamalrani Varun, and Chetan Chauhan have passed away. Four BJP MLAs also lost their lives due to infection. These include Lucknow MLA Suresh Chandra Srivastava, Auraiya Sadar MLA Ramesh Chandra Diwakar, Saffron Singh Gangwar of Bareilly Nawabganj and Dal Bahadur Kori.

Was an MLA from Muzaffarnagar

  • Vijay Kashyap was an MLA from Charathaval seat in Muzaffarnagar district.
